IEEE WFIoT ’23 – Vertical track on industry and manufacturing – Digital Twins

At the IEEE 9th World Forum on Internet of Things, Prof. Hoebeke gave a talk during the session on Digital Twins that was part of the vertical track on Industry and Manufacturing. As connectivity is vital in connected industrial systems, the talk discussed the importance of bringing in the connectivity aspect into a Digital Twin of such systems, also named a Digital Twin Network (DTN). Insights were shared on the realisation of a DTN, recent progress made in the group on DTNs for IoT, and its application to future converged private 5G – Wi-Fi time-sensitive networks that are being studied within the group.
